How a PTO Shaft Works on a Cotton Picker<\/h2>\n

Power flows from the tractor’s engine through the transmission to the rear PTO stub, which rotates at 540 RPM. The PTO shaft’s tractor-side yoke slides onto this stub via a splined connection (6-spline 1 3\/8″), locking it in rotation. Torque passes through the first cross-and-bearing assembly, down the telescoping profile tube, and through the second cross-and-bearing assembly into the Cotton Picker’s input shaft. The profile tube design (Round Tube) provides both torque transmission and axial slide capability, critical as the Cotton Picker moves relative to the tractor during fieldwork. The safety guard encloses the rotating shaft and both universal joint areas, spinning freely on bearings to prevent entanglement.
